The plastic is used in any type of sausage packaging, specially, for non-smoked products where high performance is expected, since smoke and water do not pass through the casing.
Generally, casings are made of polymers such as Polyamide, Polypropylene or Polyethylene. Plastic casings made of Polyamide (Nylon) are the most used in the production of cooked sausages and ham, such as sliced ham and mortadella.
Applications: round sausages that require a clean peeling after cooking.
